World Trio

“World Trio” is an international collaboration of three
remarkable musicians from different corners of the world.
The band members have been influenced by a variety of
lifestyles, cultures, and musical genres. With a bass player
from Israel, the Drummer from the U.S. and a Russian pianist,
the group celebrates the distinctions which create their
unique sound, blending together music and rhythms
of Middle East, Europe, Africa, Bulgaria and American Jazz.

Touted by critics and audience alike at their official debut
at the 2009 Tanglewood Jazz Festival, band members have been touring
extensively on the international scene, collaborating with many
prominent jazz and world music figures, including Marcus Miller,
Jack DeJohnette, Esperanza Spaulding, Greg Osby, Julian Lage
and performed at North Sea Jazz Festival (NL), Jazz a Juan Festival (FR),
Jazz Maastricht Masters (NL), Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival (USA)
as well as toured in Japan, Russia, Belgium, Mexico, Spain, Germany,
Estonia, Italy, Canada, Switzerland and more.
In September 2010 “World Trio” won the First Prize
and all special awards such as “Best Bass Player” (Haggai Cohen Milo),

Belgian Composition” at 32nd edition of Jazz Hoeilaart Competition
in Belgium.
“The World Trio is playing in joy, fun, pleasure.
They’ve just made us happy. The Trio developed their own style,
and is communicating with the audience. Their technical
abilities are on a very high level. Their music is dynamic,
explosive and filled with energy”.
“Evgeny Lebedev puts a great definition in his music.
Everything is very clear: articulation, voicings, dynamics color, …”
-Jury members of 32nd
Jazz Hoeilaart competition
“Lebedev, an accomplished pianist, is a highly lyrical, astute player
with sweet edges, but the trio, is an integrated, communicative
unit supported by the taut, fierce drumming of Lee Fish.” - Jazz.com
